- Twilight picked up 5 MTV Movie Awards for Best Movie, Best Female Performance – Kristin Stewart, Breakthough Perfomance Male – Robert Pattinson, Best Fight, and Best Kiss. The lost Best Song to Miley Cyrus. Even though Twilight was nominated for 7 awards, Rob and Taylor were up againist each other in the same category.
- The teaser trailer for “The Twilight Saga:New Moon” debuted during the MTV Movie Awards…and it was awesome. If you haven’t seen it yet you can check it out HERE.
- Rob Pattinson landed in NYC (my stomping grounds) to start filiming “Remember Me”, his new movie with Summit Entertainment.
- 3 new movie stills were released showing the goodbye scene, Dr. Cullen attending to a bleeding Bella, and a wet and shirtless Jacob Black. Those images are availabe in our New Moon Photo Gallery.
- -Numbers were released for the amout of hits the New Moon trailer got in about the first 24hrs, and the total came to around 5.6 millon. That only counts the “Official” releases on Myspace and MTV.com. There are quite a few on YouTube.com that have generated well for 3 million alone.
- Stephenie Meyer was name #26 on Forbes.com Top 100 Celebrity power list; beating out President Obama, Ryan Seacrest, and Miley Cyrus.
- Stephenie Meyer also took to her official website to say she was deleting her Myspace page. Also, she stated that all Facebook and Twitter pages that say they are her are fakes.
- Speaking of Twitter, the website managed to suspend one of the more popular fansites hisgoldeneyes.com. If you were following them on twitter you can now follow the sites founder @kimmymary.
I think that covers all the Twilight Happenings this week!!!
Update from Stephenie Meyer about her MySpace!!!

Stephenie Meyer updated her website today in regards to her MySpace page with the following
“A quick fyi: I am taking down my bloated myspace page. It was a lot of fun while it lasted, and I really miss the early days when I could hang out with people online. Many of you are hilarious and insightful, and I wish it was easier for me to talk to everyone the way I used to.
With the myspace no longer in existence, I can now clearly state that—beside than this website—there is no other outlet where I communicate with people online. I do not have a facebook page, and I have never had one. I don’t do twitter. So if you’re communicating with someone online that you think is me, it’s not.
Hope you all are having a great summer so far! If you’re looking for some beach reading, you might try Rick Riordan’s Percy Jackson and the Olympians series if you haven’t already. My son finally finished book five
yesterday so I could read it today. It was a fantastic end to a fantastic series. I tip my hat to you, Mr. Riordan!
XO
Steph”
So if you’ve been a friend of Stephenie’s on MySpace her page is already gone.
I’m glad she pointed out that now her website is the only place to get updates from her, there are a few fake Twitter accounts out there, so don’t be fooled.
Stephenie Meyer on Forbes Top 100 List

Forbes.com released the annual Top Celebrity List for 2008, there was more then one suprise. Besides Oprah being bumped down to #2, Stephenie Meyer, Author of “The Twilight Saga” and “The Host” has come in at #26 (Simon Cowell got #25)!!!
“Thanks to the success of Meyer’s Twilight series, 2008 became the year of the vampire. The low-profile author sold 29 million books last year, releasing two new novels (Breaking Dawn and The Host) and selling hoards of paperbacks of what have become instant classics (Twilight, Eclipse and New Moon). Last November, gothy fans camped out to catch the first film based on the series; Twilight grossed $70 million opening weekend…”
Showing how much Twilight ruled 2008 Stephenie beat out Mily Cyrus (#29) and President Barack Obama (#49).
Congrats Stephenie!!!

Stephenie Meyer on Twitter..It’s a Fake

So, even I fell for this one. But after paying attention and contacting some fansites, it has been discovered that the Stephenie Meyer Twitter page is a fake!!!
From Stephenie’s People
“Stephenie does NOT have a Twitter account, or a Facebook, or pretty much anything else, but her MySpace page and website.”
This a little sad, but I don’t even want to think of the craziness that would insue if Ms. Meyer actually was on Twitter.
So Beware
http://twitter.com/StephenieMeyer
Not real!!!!
Thanks to both TwilightGuy.com and TwilightLexicon for confirming.
