American Idol has its 4th Judge!!  Ellen DeGeneres has been confirmed to be taking the spot left empty with Paula Abdual left the show this past summer!!!

“Guess what? Go ahead… nope… keep guessing… Okay, I’ll just tell you–I’m gonna be the new judge on American Idol!”

Ellen has been a big supporter of American Idol featuring the shows singers on her show numerous times!!

Congrats Ellen!!!

Paula Abdul announced on her Twitter page to day that she will NOT be returning to American Idol next season!!

“With sadness in my heart, I’ve decided not to return to IDOL. I’ll miss nurturing all the new talent, but most of all being a part of a show that I helped from day 1 become an international phenomenon. What I want to say most, is how much I appreciate the undying support and enormous love that you have showered upon me. It truly has been breathtaking, especially over the past month. I do without any doubt have the BEST fans in the entire world and I love you all.”

Fox also confirmed, and released the following statement

“Paula Abdul has been an important part of the American Idol family over the last eight seasons and we are saddened that she has decided not to return to the show. While Paula will not be continuing with us, she’s a tremendous talent and we wish her the best.”

Fellow judges Randy Jackson and Simon Cowell  – who has said in the past that he does not want to do Idol without Abdul — are not commenting. Idol host Ryan Seacrest posted a response on Twitter: “I am shocked and saddened.”

Abdul has been in contract negotiations for the last few weeks, and is walking away from a 30% raise and 8 figure salary.

In the latest issue of Rolling Stone (hits stands this Friday) American Idol’s runner up Adam Lambert gives some news that everyone pretty much already knew.

“I don’t think it should be a surprise for anyone to hear that I’m gay”

If you didn’t know this already then you’ve either been in denial or living under a rock.

Kris Allen!!!!

I have to say it, America you got it wrong!!!!  Normally I am all for my favorite coming in second as that means they get do the kind of record they want to do.  This year it was different, Adam was just so different that I wanted someone totally like him to win!!!  I am a sad, sad idol fan tonight.

So after nearly 2hrs of random duets, Idol covering some songs, Adam Lambert with KISS (great pairing by the way) and Steve Martin doing folk/country, we got the results that were WRONG!!!!

However, on the bright side (and I am trying to look at it), Adam will do awesome, he will get the record deal, put out an awesome album, and I will fully support it!!!
