Box Office mojo is reporting that “Fast and Furious” the fourth movie in the franchise is number one at the box office this weekend, bringing in around $72.5 million this weekend.  Making it the top grossing car themed movie, beating out “Cars” which had opened with $60.1 million.  This also makes it the largest opening for the franchise itself.

Adventureland starting Twilight’s Kristin Stewart and Jesse Eisenberg opened up at number six with about $6 million opening.  Adventureland was written/directed by  Greg Mottola the director of Superbad.
